SKYSCRAPER CROW
Double CD to be released on September 8

The new record, "Skyscraper Crow" will be released on Bladen County Records on September 8, 2009.

Also, look for a download only record of guitar instrumentals, as well as songs on tributes to both the Rolling Stones and Townes Van Zandt.

Tour to follow...

Double CD to be released on September 8
Four

I started recording a while ago… I don’t know exactly what happened, but now there are four records. Not sure what form these recordings will ultimately be release in/as, but there will probably be some kind of multi-disc release. Titles TBA. Stay tuned for details.

Brief notes on the records:

“The Acoustic Record”: Written and recorded Summer-Fall of 2008. Me solo playing acoustic guitars with a little bit of keyboards and percussion and occasional background vocals. Recorded at Onion Road Studios Burlington, VT.

“The Computer Record”: Recorded entirely “in the box” on my Apple PowerBook G4. All the sounds with the exception of my vocals and the background singing of Kendall Meade (Mascott) were generated with the computer and a MIDI keyboard. The music was written and recorded in a corner of my old bedroom in Sunnyside, Queens 2007-2008. All of the lyrics were written on various subways in the New York City Subway system.

“The Band Record”: Recorded in two days live in the studio (Spring 2008) with Konrad Meisner (Silos) on drums and me on electric guitar and vocals in Brooklyn, NY. Mark Spencer (Son Volt, Laura Cantrell) played bass. Kendall Meade sang backup on a number of the tunes. Minimal overdubs of percussion, acoustic, keyboards. These songs grew out of “jams” that Konrad and I had at his rehearsal space under the Brooklyn Bridge.

“The Ambient Guitar Record”: All instrumental electric guitar. Half of these pieces were spontaneous improves recorded live in the studio late one night during the sessions for my last record (the self-titled Anders Parker) out in L.A. The other pieces were written and recorded during the Valentine’s blizzard of 2008 in northern Vermont.
