My “Wednesdays in January” residency at The Living Room in New York city begins this week. I'll be playing on the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st at 9pm. Mark Spencer will be joining me for all of these shows on lap steel and guitar. Gob Iron plays at Maxwell's in Hoboken on January 19th and Northsix in Brooklyn on the 20th. I'll be opening the show with a solo set followed by a Jay Farrar solo set and then the two of us, with Mark Spencer, will play as Gob Iron. Check the tour page for more details.

Just added some new dates to the site. Gob Iron will be heading west in early December and after that we'll be making up the Brooklyn show we had to cancel due to Jay being sick. January 20 is the date. And I think we'll be adding a Maxwell's date around then, too.
I've got some solo shows coming up. Heading up to Burlington, VT for a December show and then I've got a residency set up at The Living Room on Wednesdays in January. Check the Tour page for details.

The self titled AP record is my third solo release on Baryon Records. I'm calling it my "acoustic band" record. See below for details on the musicians and places.
Here's the track listing:
- 1. Circle Same
- 2. Missing
- 3. Oh, Monkeywrench
- 4. Dear Sara
- 5. Airport Road
- 6. Under Wide Unbroken Skies
- 7. False Positive
- 8. Belated
- 9. Proof
- 10. Pajarito

The other record is being released under the moniker Gob Iron (on Sony/Legacy.) It's a record that I made with Jay Farrar (of Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo fame) just about two years ago in St. Louis. We spent a few days recording traditional folk songs. It's just the two of us playing all the instruments and singing. It's a ten song record and the whole thing is strung together with little acoustic guitar interludes that we improvised.
Here's the track listing:
- 1. Death's Black Train
- 2. Hard Times
- 3. Hills of Mexico
- 4. Silicosis Blues
- 5. Wayside Tavern
- 6. Nicotine Blues
- 7. Death is Only a Dream
- 8. East Virginia Blues
- 9. Little Girl and the Dreadful Snake
- 10. Buzz and Grind
Tour dates will be posted soon as well as a few of the new songs.

Much activity these days. I'm finishing up a new album which will be released in early fall in the US. It was recorded out in Los Angeles, California. Produced by Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Clem Snide, Helium) and myself. I had a great group of people play on it. The band included:
- AP: Vocals, acoustic guitar, and piano
- Ken Coomer: Drums, percussion
- Kirk Swan: Electric guitar
- Jennifer Condos: Bass
- Eric Heywood: Pedal steel with:
- Phil Hurley: Acoustic guitar and backing vocals
- Sally Timms: Vocals
- Kristin Mooney: Vocals
- Mark Spencer: Piano and Moog
- Kendall Meade: Vocals
The website will be undergoing an overhaul in the next few months. In the meantime you can check here for updates too: MYSPACE.COM/ANDERSPARKER
There's also a little folk record that I did with Jay Farrar which is slated to be released in the fall. The name of the band is Gob Iron. More news on that later.
Take care,
AP
